If you were told this place is kid friendly, well that is only true to a certain extent. There is a lot of space outside the restaurant for kids to enjoy the nice weather and run around on the grass.. The restaurant is not so. It is a great place for a posh and luxurious meal, great for dates.. not so much if you have a bunch of kids.

The butternut main paired nicely with the glass of Chardonnay I had - I ordered the churros as dessert mostly out of curiosity but they certainly aren't the heavily cinnamon and sugar laden Mexican dish that I'm used to. Nice grounds to walk around on!

We rang and booked for 2pm. We came in 20mins early and were told we had to wait outside the restaurant.

Unfortunate experience, my husband and I came here for the lunch degustation on our honeymoon. The Maitre D’ was rude and service was very impersonal. Lots of noisy festival set up was occurring on all of the grounds which killed the ambience a bit. Spring menu was underwhelming, didn’t live up to rave reviews or their reputation. I now know that for me personally, I value a strong environmental ethos, farm to table food ethics and intimate customer service, and Leeuwin missed the mark on all counts. If you agree I think it’s a much better bet to try out and support smaller wineries in Margaret River and even further in the Great Southern. Leeuwin was indeed a very commercial experience and I can’t say I would reccommend it again!

We can cannot understand how the kitchen can not handle the 10 tables that they were serving and why we weren’t even offered one of the many free tables for at least a drink and nibbles. Instead we were sent to sit out side the restaurant.

We didn’t try the food as we moved onto the friendly service and great food at studio bistro.

Leeuwin estate. Very near to the Main Street of Margaret River. A short drive, perhaps less than 5 minutes and you're there. Do consider signing up for a paid tour online, complete with tasting. We arrived slightly earlier by car, and there are still a number of parking lots left. The tour took about an hour or so, where we were shown where and how the wine is made, before exiting to the vineyard. A tasting of 10 or so wines followed. At the end, you have the option of buying wines that will be shipped direct to your doorstep.

The restaurant was half empty with 10plus tables free inside and on the deck.
